In Freehold, NJ, we found that under-insulated cantilevers were allowing cold air to enter, which led to frozen bathroom pipes above. We removed the soffit panels, installed rigid foam boards, sealed all gaps to create an impermeable barrier against air infiltration, and then reinstalled the soffit panels.
Now the home stays warmer, and the pipes stay protected all winter long.
