This kneewall in Matawan, NJ was poorly insulated, allowing outside air to leak in while conditioned air escaped. We installed rigid foam boards along the roofline and at the kneewall ends, then sealed the remaining gaps and leaks with foam sealant. These kneewalls, which run the length of the home, aren’t used for storage and are contributing to uneven temperatures, making some rooms too hot or too cold depending on the season. Properly insulating and air sealing this area will improve overall comfort and help reduce energy costs.
