Original Dirty Crawlspace
This area was covered by a thin liner which is supposed to keep everything below it, but clearly that has not stopped any of the dirt, debris, and pests you see here.
Old Fiberglass Wall Insulation
This old fiberglass insulation is now dirty and not functioning properly. These boards are not air sealing the wall at all and are not keeping much outside air/temperature outside.
Interior Wall
This is an interior wall which is connected to the inside of the house, meaning this area will not be air sealed.
Dirty Crawl
Another shot of all the debris and poor insulation.
Finished Crawl
A complete difference between now and before, you almost wouldn't think it was the same crawl.
Sealed Crawl
No the foam board on the walls are providing an effectively air-sealed insulation barrier between the outside and inside of the house.
Interior Wall
Now the exposed plumbing and other things are no longer exposed to outside air and temperature in the crawlspace.
Sealed Rim Joist
The Rim Joist is one of the leakiest parts of the home, due to that is a few pieces of wood sitting on top of each other only covered by the outside siding. Sealing this area can leave your home with a large reduction in heating and cooling costs.
