Kneewall Adjoining Wall
This adjoining wall in the kneewall is allowing outside air to leak into the conditioned room.
Exposed Fiberglass Insulation
The adjoining wall has exposed fiberglass insulation that does very little to provide insulation.
Insulating Adjoining Wall with Foamax
We placed Foamax insulation boards over the exposed fiberglass insulation and sealed the seams using ZypFoam to keep outside air from entering the conditioned space.
Can Light Cover & Air Sealed
In the lower midsection of the picture, between the trusses or angled 2x4s, we employed our TiteShell can light covers to seal the light bulbs and fixtures against air leaks. Additionally, we utilized orange ZypFoam sealant to seal the remaining sections of the kneewall and adjoining wall against air infiltration.
Air Sealing and Draft Blocking
Our team is currently sealing the seams of the Foamax and areas where we've installed draft blocks. We use either Foamax or spray foam to prevent air from infiltrating the joist bays and entering the conditioned space.
Kneewall Mechanicals
The house's mechanical systems were situated within the kneewall, prompting us to insulate the adjoining wall using Foamax.
Completed Kneewall
The kneewall offered ample storage space, enabling us to effectively air seal and insulate the adjoining wall using Foamax.
