Small Ranch Style Home
This home had inadequate attic insulation and was not air sealed.
Inadequate Attic Insulation
This attic is very bare or is lacking the proper insulation. This attic doesn't look like it's in good condition to insulate the owner's home. Thats where we come in!
Fiberglass Insulation
We have more fiberglass insulation lacking the proper R-value and dirty insulation.
Dirty Insulation
Dirt in the insulation are signs of the attic not being air sealed. We have conditioned air leaking into the attic while the owner pays more to condition their home.
Old Fiberglass Insulation
The exposed fiberglass insulation is doing next to nothing to insulate.
Baffle Vents
Notice the baffle vents are not blocked and have plent of ventilation. The trusts of the roof are buried with TruSoft insulation with the optimal R-Value of R-60.
Retaining Walls
We installed retaining walls in order to contain the Blown-in TruSoft cellulose insulation.
TruSoft Insulation R-Value
We insulated this attic to an R-Value of R-60 over the required NJ code of R-49 (R-60 is the optimal R-Value).
Trusoft Cellulose Insulation
We blew-in TruSoft celluose insulation and highly recomend it over exposed fiberglass insulation. Cellulose insulation cuts air infiltration by 38% compared to exposed fiberglass insulation.
Proper Attic Ventilation
We also addressed the ventialtion as some of the baffle vents were blocked by the fiberglass insulation. Notice the retaining walls and TruSoft insulation.
Small Attic Insulated
When insulating near flues and/or heat generating sources we use a 3 inch border or buffer around them. Even though TruSoft cellulose is fire retardant we keep up to code making sure our homeowner's have a safe enviornment to live in.
