Modern Modular Cape Cod House with Overhang
Our homeowner has a beautiful porch with an overhang that joins the room above. The customer complains the above room becomes too warm in the summers and too cold in the winters.
Dirty Insulation
Airs passing underneath the fiberglass insulation between the joist bays, we know this because the fiberglass insulation becomes dirty.
Dirty Fiberglass Insulation
When we lift up the fiberglass insulation we can see the dirt building up or filtering through the insulation.
Open Gaps, Cavities and Soffits
After the fiberglass insulation is removed we can see some areas sealed but we can also see or can understand why the fiberglass is becoming dirty. In this image we have air seeping into soffits of the gaps and cavities which is circulating unwanted air or particles throughout the house.
Metal Box Duct Leaks
In this image we can see seams that are not properly sealed. This creates leaks which makes the homeowners have to pay more for their energy bill. Also the metal box ductwork radiates off heat in the summer that can make attics reach up to 140 degrees.
Sealed Rafters
In this image we show our SilverGlo foam insulation panels over the existing expanding spray foam that's on the bottom rafters in the kneewall space. SilverGlo foam insulation boards were installed to the ceiling joist bays and Orange ZypFoam to air seal the SilverGlo foam insulation.
Attic Kneewall Space Insulation
This image shows the finished kneewall space with our SilverGlo foam insulation. By properly Air Sealing the kneewall space and insulating the rafters, we have eliminated the outside air from contaminating the attic and kneewall spaces.
Encapsulating Metal Ductwork with Foam Insulation Boards
Our team encapsulated the existing metal duct work with our SilverGlo foam insulation boards. This will help eliminate any heat radiating off the metal ductwork. We use Orange ZypFoam to seal the seams of the SilverGlo to eliminate any leaking seams.
