This customer in Tinton Falls, NJ had an upstairs bedroom that was unbearably hot during the summer months. During Dr. Energy Saver's home energy audit on the house, our home energy expert discovered there was under-insulated attic space above the bedroom that was even too small to fit someone into. Our team had a simple answer for this obstacle and was able to dense pack the cavity from the outside with cellulose insulation. By drilling holes under the siding in the outer frame of the house, we were able to gain access through the cavity to properly insulate the bedroom.

Tight Attic Cavity

This space bordered the ceiling of the master bedroom and had no insulation. Leaving the homeowner inside defenseless from the heat.

Holes Drilled

Siding removed then holes drilled to access the attic from outside.

Cellulose Hose

PVC pipe attached to hose to access deep cavities like in this house. Improves cellulose distribution.

Cellulose Packed in Roof

Cellulose is packed until all open space is filled, leaving no room for air to pass through the cavity.

Holes Plugged

Holes are plugged before siding is reinstalled to keep cellulose inside roof.

Finished Job

Siding and gutters reinstalled as if nothing ever happened. Crew member blows left over debris off of roof to ensure the work area looks better than we found it.
