2015 IECC Duct Leakage Testing

In 2015 the IECC introduced their new codes for residential homes. Introducing mandatory duct leakage and blower door tests on all new homes to improve the overall energy efficiency of homes around the nation. We, at Dr. Energy Saver, are certified to perform the test on any new houses.

We start by sealing all of the vent openings in the home. Then we attach our testing fan to an open return duct and pressurize the duct system. This will then tell us how much air is leaking out of the ductwork.
