Attic Air Sealing and Blown Cellulose in Middletown Township, NJ

Challenge

A homeowner in Middletown Township, NJ contacted us because their second floor was hot and humid. Also, our customer stated their first floor was too cold. When our team inspected the homeowner’s house we found the attic had old fiberglass insulation and the attic was not air sealed.

Solution

Our team at Dave Hoh’s Home Comfort and Energy Experts diagnosed the homeowner’s issues and began the process of air sealing the attic. We use our orange ZypFoam to completely air seal all the gaps, holes and seams in the attic floor. Next we spray expanding foam over any leaky ducts to seal the seams or to seal any leaking joints.

Finally, our premium TruSoft cellulose insulation is blown to the optimum R-value of R-60. We also dense pack TruSoft cellulose insulation underneath the attic decking. This provides the insulation needed to insulate the attic but also gives the homeowner the use of the decking for storage space.

These results bring a more comfortable home with less drafty rooms and reduce the homeowner’s electric bills.
